Re-brand or Die!
Like it or not, the modern consumer is fickle and largely bored!
Bombarded by an infinite tsunami of marketing messages, standing out is all that counts. ‘New’ is still the most seductive of words and standing still equates to decay.
Two of Impress’ lead, but contrasting clients, RACS Group and Closa have taken the plunge to re-brand their businesses this year with devastating effects in terms of both creative ‘look and feel’ and commercial attitude.
Equally innovative, 3Sphere have decided to extend their brand by opening a retail store in Clifton to offer retail consumers the same designer furniture currently afforded to their corporate clients; this new operation is being promoted as ‘Sphere Living Design’.
All three projects are underpinned by the vision, dynamism and the sheer ambition of the company owners who have the guts to do something different; take a risk, ride an instinctive wave and push the button on the re-brand roller coaster.
Each project has consumed Impress since the start of the year and as the initial ideas come to life in glossy print or on shimmering screens, on cappuccino coffee mugs or back-lit signs. However, the most important aspect of all three is the attitudes of the staff who have to buy-in to the business plans, justify the promises and deliver the products flawlessly.
Branding, re-branding or sub-branding, call it what you will, is all based on a mindset, a belief system and a list of unbreakable principles which real people have to action on a daily basis. Without this, merely changing a logo is meaningless.
