Closa is a local retail furniture brand specialising in both indoor and outdoor products. They decided to add an online shopping division to their business, and Impress were commissioned not only to build a fully functional eCommerce site, but to also reinvigorate the company’s brand.
Adding an online shopping arm to any business represents a leap of faith as the dynamics of ‘eTailing’ are often very different to running a physical shop.
We designed Closa’s new site after closely analysing some of the leading online shops in the UK such as The White Company and Habitat.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring that products were priced competitively and relevant keywords were included in the on-page content. Both factors paid almost immediate dividends as the site began to generate sales from all over the UK.
Certain products were being featured on the first page of Google just a few days after the site was launched and visitor numbers began to escalate.
The success of the site has surprised Closa’s owner, Andy Jennings, who is now adjusting his business model to deal with distribution logistics, updating the site on a weekly basis and the complexities of search engine optimisation!
