Wallpaper Magazine - Sumptuous & Luxurious

I freely confess to love buying magazines and I am like a kid in the proverbial candy store when stood before the racks of glossy covers in Bath's WH Smith.

A bewildering array of titles cater for every interest, hobby or pastime and the interior and design categories are truly spoilt; old favourites such as World of Interiors and Home & Gardens are now challenged by an increasingly cool portfolio of titles that include Frame, Object and even Blueprint - the architects bible.

However, for sheer lifestyle-inspiring chic and a truly global design perspective, Wallpaper represents a cutting-edge manifesto of stylised modernity that motivates and frustrates in equal measure.

The photography is of course stunning and the shimmering images bring to life the zenith of man's imagination epitomised by amazing spaces, ingenious products, the coolest fashions and spectacular buildings.

At the heart of this world is always the idea; the intellectual capacity to go one step further, to wallow in the joy of style and sophistication; to produce things that are so perfect that they create desire, longing and passion. Of course it all comes at a cost and having just renovated a Georgian apartment in Bath, one can only imagine some of the budgets involved in designing the glorious products and environments on display - hence the frustration!

No matter, my monthly fix of this designer universe provides genuine inspiration, hardens my ambition and reinforces my belief in the human spirit.

Wallpaper is published monthly by  IPC Media.
