Andrew Pinnell
Managing Director
Forming Impress represents a culmination of over twenty years in marketing for Andrew, who remains sole shareholder and Managing Director. Andrew’s career began when he formed his own company publishing fanzines and books written about The Sisters of Mercy. Andrew owes a great debt of gratitude to the band that provided a platform to promote his work on a global scale which ultimately gained worldwide distribution and recognition.
A period promoting dance music followed and he and Martin Palmer designed some of the most innovative flyers in the sector. It's hard to believe that Andrew promoted the likes of Carl Cox, Grooverider and The Shamen, before the partnership with Martin shifted into the corporate sector.
Perhaps less exotic, the pair’s desire to push the boundaries of design soon led to full-time jobs with Premier Global in Trowbridge. Andrew survived the corporate trip for five years, elevating the company to true brand status on the back of cracking advertising, PR and relationship marketing with professional sports bodies. Inevitably, the trip turned sour and Andrew was delighted to jump ship in 2005 and form Impress with Martin (as ever) at his side.
Impress now embodies Andrew’s vision of a full-service agency that delivers commercial results for a vast array of diverse clients. His interests in music, underground design culture, blogging and digital marketing continue to have a significant influence on the agency.
Outside of the agency, Andrew is dedicated to his two wonderful daughters (Charlotte & Lizzy), captains Babington House Cricket Club and writes creatively about Siegfried Sassoon, culture and his under alter-ego – Media Boy. |
